Driving in the dark

What a fun-filled day it has been. I realised that the fantastic new 20-minute break time means that I have to do 5 minutes more duty than last year, which is a shame, but then on the four days each week I don't do duty I get an extra 5 minutes to eat banananas or plan lessons or check my email, so that's ok.

This afternoon I remembered why I always worked out the answers to the A Level Mechanics questions before giving them to the class to do. They got stuck on one, and I got a little bit stuck too, until I engaged brain and realised that parallel and equal aren't the same.

The next exciting thing was finding that now I've passed my test and had a year of insurance without claiming, my premium is much cheaper than it was last year, and I think if I shop around I can get it lower still! This might even leave me enough money to buy some new brakes.

This evening was spent visiting my colleague Chris and his lovely wife to view the international football on their exceptionally large television. Despite England losing, it was a fun evening - we ate Cadbury's Snaps which are like pringles in that you can do the funny duck face with them, but they're made of chocolate. It also gave me an opportunity to try driving in the dark, which wasn't as scary as I thought it might have been. The secret is to use headlights.

We had the match on our exceptionally huge big-screen TV at the pub. What a shame! Still, the punters spent loads of money!

You don't want to be eating Banananas, far too much fibre.

A pal drove from Devon to Sussex at night with a defective alternator, which meant the lights kept going out. That was exciting.
