Sleep deprivation

I deprived myself of sleep this afternoon when I got in from work, rather than dozing and ruining my chances of sleeping tonight. Instead, I made coffee and chatted to my mum, then did a little gardening, and put some laundry on - all things which needed doing and gave me a healthy "I've achieved something" boost. I've also done quite a bit of preliminary research about removal firms versus DIY by hiring a van and renting a crowd of family/friends.

The washing machine is playing up. I'm hoping it's just a blocked filter, but there's been a steady trickle on the kitchen floor, and it needed nudging through the wash cycle. I've persuaded it to rinse and spin, and once it's finished I'll clean the filter and poke around a bit. Still, at least if it breaks and I have to chuck it out, I won't have to move it when I move house.

Stu - thanks for the comment with wise words. I was a little low last night; insomnia plagued my teenage years and yesterday was an unhappy reminder of just how bad it can be. I'm bound to be on an emotional rollercoaster at the moment, and my blog is the natural place for any angst to end up, so just bear with me for the next couple of months, guys. And then come to visit me in my new flat once I've settled in and everything's gone swimmingly :-)

Must be something in the air! - tonight I got through stacks of housey and personal filing, fnished off (I think!) my name change letters and filled in the guarantee for the new shower, so I feel I've acheived something too!!
