Happy new car!

Hello. It's been a while, hasn't it? Let's briefly whizz through everything that's happened in the last couple of weeks.
1) Christmas. It was pretty good. My niece is old enough to be extremely cute with wrapping paper. I got a fabby tripod for my camera, a fabby blender to make soup, and zillions of fabby presents from Sam including This Life on DVD and strings for my guitar. And a promise that he's going to teach me to play my guitar properly so I'll be able to lie in bed strumming tunes. Not quite as good as having a piano, but the next best thing perhaps.

2) Going back to work. This happened too soon. At least it wasn't a full week though, and it's only a short half term so I'll be off again before you know it. Oh, and if you think it's so unfair that I get lots of holidays, well what's stopping you from training to be a teacher? There is a shortage you know, particularly if maths or physics is your thang.

3) Getting a car! I went up to Lincolnshire yesterday to pick up my shiny Corsa from my dad. He's upgraded to some green thing, so I paid him £lots to take it off his hands. It goes vrooooooooom and accelerates much better than the Peugeot did, and it has power steering!

I have lots of leek and potato soup in the freezer wot I made using my new blender, so I'm going to vanish and eat some, in order to make room for the broccoli and stilton soup I've got planned for this week! If you fancy dropping round for some, I'll put the breadmaker on and we can have walnut bread too.

I've never made soup, maybe it should be a new years resolution.

Hey! What about your totally cool retro present - that took me a whole twenty minutes to put together and it doesn't even rate a mention. Now I'm going to be all hurt.

Also, the green thing is cool. It has a cd player.
