I appear to have cheese on the bottom of my slippers.
I must've trodden on it in the kitchen. Is trodden a word? It looks wrong. It is? Great, we can carry on then.
So, back to work last week, and all seemed to be well. I think the break away did me the world of good and put things back into perspective, so I'm unlikely to do something stupid like handing in my resignation with nowhere to go. That doesn't mean I'm no longer looking for alternative career ideas, it just means I'll probably stay put until Christmas unless some fabulous opportunity comes up in the near future.
It's amazing how quickly you settle back into routines. This weekend was a fairly normal one - off up to Sam's on Friday night, went to help a friend move into her new house on Saturday, walked into Ely for lunch and a bit of shopping today, then I drove back this evening to do some laundry and order some batteries for my car keys because they only open the door when I'm standing right next to the car. It all sounds very mundane, but it was actually a very pleasant weekend, perhaps because after the excitement of a holiday it's nice to feel that things are back to normal again, and it makes me thankful that for me, normal is often quite lovely.
