New York Photos (Part 1)
All in all, I took over 100 photos. Luckily for you, I took them with the proper camera, so I shall only share those ones I can be bothered to scan in, although it does mean you won't see them in their full glory because I'm not very good with the scanner. I've picked the best from the first film, which covers the first 3 days.
On our first full day, we started by heading down to Lower Manhattan, riding the Staten Island Ferry, and taking lots of pictures of the Statue of Liberty and Lower Manhattan. I have spared you these because I took some much better ones in better weather later on, but here's one of the Stock Exchange. We saw a lot of flags while we were away but I think this was the largest.

On our second day, after spending much of the day in the Museum of Modern Art (I only took one photo and it's a bit boring unless you like the colour blue) we went all the way up to Morningside Heights, where I took this picture to prove that there's more of Broadway than the glitzy bit with theatres.

The church is Riverside Church; we couldn't look inside because they were preparing for Easter.
Then I took a photo of this very handsome chap in the grounds of Columbia University.

Our third day was Easter Sunday, and although it was very chilly, it was also beautifully clear and ideal for taking photos of the Chrysler Building:

and the United Nations, where the flagpoles were devoid of flags as there was no-one there.

Then we wandered along to Fifth Avenue where the annual Easter Parade was taking place, and everyone was wearing ridiculous headgear. The pick of the hat-wearers has to be this chap though:

The rest of the day was spent wandering around The Village, SoHo, and then Chelsea for dinner. Tomorrow I shall scan in the exciting pictures from Day 4.
