Cambridge
The weekend started with a hot bath and lots of Radox Stress Relief Bubble Bath. It meant I was later to Sam's than I'd planned but I was significantly calmer and more relaxed. Attempting to teach Pythagoras' Theorem to fourteen-year-olds is not the best way to end your working week. Sam obliged with yet another delicious meal on Friday night, and we watched The Devil's Advocate on the telly while we ate, which I enjoyed.
The plan for Saturday was to go into Cambridge for a bit of a look around and some shopping, and then to meet up with some of Sam's college friends, some of whom we hadn't seen for ages. We met in a pub and had a meal which was rather spoiled for me because my first plateful came complete with a little beetle. They cooked me another but it was somewhat offputting. We whiled away the rest of the afternoon first in a cafe for hot chocolate and then in a second pub, and in between the chatting I checked my phone to find a message from the Lovely Tom to see if we wanted to go round for dinner at his place. He really is a rather good cook. We had bruschetta, braised lamb, and sticky pudding and ice cream. What's more, they offered us the spare room so Sam could have drinkies too and not worry about driving back. We overindulged, and then sat groaning on the sofa watching things on Youtube and learning all about the Mormon Church from an episode of South Park.
Today has been shorter than it should, what with losing the hour for the clocks and everything. Still, we managed to drag ourselves back to Ely and spend a lovely day together pottering around. We took my car to the hand car wash to be cleaned, and it looks much better now. The drive home from Sam's tonight was much more pleasant than last week's; rather than being dark and snowy, the clock change meant it was light all the way home, and I realised I'm going to have to start wearing my sunglasses for driving before long.
One more week before the Easter Holidays; then a few more days before we go to New York. Life is better when you have things to look forward to.

That episode of Southpark is hilarious. And surprisingly correct, (bet that doesn't chuff the mormons). Glad you managed to relax and got fed nice grub. Sounds yummy.
