Shifting patterns
The marvellous thing about weekends is that I don't have to get up until I feel like it, and can quite happily lounge in bed until at least 9am, in the manner of a lady of leisure or Simon or similar. The only problem is my body clock hasn't recovered from being allowed to stay in bed until after 9am every day during the latter part of the holidays when things like driving lessons no longer happened to wake me up, so this week I've been staying up late, getting up early, and almost falling asleep while trying to teach. Not a problem, I thought; come the weekend I will be very tired, and will sleep a long time to make up for that, and I'll get back to my term-time routine. Unfortunately, it has got round to the time I normally have to start thinking about getting up on a weekday, and my body refuses to believe it is Saturday. So I'm surfing the internet and drinking tea until my hyperactive brain settles down and allows another couple of hours of dozing.
In other news, we tried a new chinese takeaway last night, which was rather good, especially as they deliver your food instead of making you walk round to fetch it, although they do make you wait twice as long as they said it would be. We also watched The Sting, and it had been long enough since I'd seen it that I'd forgotten various plot twists, which made it more fun than if I'd known what was going to happen.
