Lashings of apologies.
First of all, as the title says*, I'm terribly sorry for the lack of bloggage. I've been busy. But with boring mundane non-blogworthy things.
The trip to Halifax with sis and niece went well, despite some pretty poor weather. We had a lovely wander around Hebden Bridge, did some shopping in Halifax, stayed in a Travelodge with a rather cute check-in guy, and caught up with Katie for some hot chocolate and chit chat. I managed a pretty long drive with a baby crying in the car without causing many major accidents, so all in all I'm rather pleased with myself. I can't claim it was on roads I don't know, because we came back via the Woodhead Pass, which was a familiar route when my sis was at uni in Liverpool. However, it was the first time I'd done the route as driver rather than passenger.
Here are a couple of pictures from the trip; I'll put the rest on flickr when I have time.

We were toying with the idea of abandoning Andrea on the station platform at Hebden Bridge** but thought better of it.

It's a good job we weren't planning to drive down the river, because it looks like they were planning roadworks down there. I took this pic because the sign caught my eye, but I'm sharing it because I really like the reflections.
The rest of my life of late has been concerned with preparing to move house this weekend. Apologies to those people who have had to put up with my frequent panic attacks; things are pretty much under control now after a visit from my mother. Most of the packing is done, and the carpets have been beaten into submission. Except you don't beat carpets any more, you hire a carpet cleaner. I apologise in advance for the lack of bloggage over the forthcoming days; I will not have broadband for aaaages once I've moved, and in theory I'll have more important things to do than blog. I know promising pictures is a huge mistake, but once the New Flat is organised I'll do my best to display it for your delectation and delight. What's the betting there will be spiders there?
*There is someone who has been known to read my blog who will recognise the quotation I have used as the title today. I put this in as a test to see if he is still reading or not.
**Please note, this is a joke. I am aware that jokes about abandoning babies are not in the least bit humorous, but if you don't know me well enough by now to realise that I don't have a sense of humour, you shouldn't be reading my blog. And if you seriously think I could walk away from that cute little bundle of redheaded goodness you *really* shouldn't be reading my blog.
