Holiday blogging

Back from a lovely trip to Barcelona. We flew out at silly-o'clock from Stansted, and arrived mid-morning on Saturday, dropped our baggage at the hotel as it was too early to check in, and then had an explore. The next few days consisted of marvelling at the weird and wonderful architecture of Gaudi and friends, and doing a heck of a lot of walking up and down hills. We had some fantastic meals, including one where we didn't get what we ordered and I have no idea what it was, but it was very nice. I took some photos, but not stupidly many. I'm quite pleased with almost all the digital ones I took, and I have a film to finish so I can get the real ones developed in the next couple of days.

I'll restrict myself to just three of the photos I took:

Gaudi's Casa Mila on Passeig de Gracia

A view of the street from inside one of the towers of Sagrada Familia.

Placa de Catalunya from the cafe at the top of El Corte Ingles department store.

I need to start thinking about our next holiday destination - reading guidebooks, learning languages, and looking at pictures of warm places is the perfect antedote to the miseries caused by British winters, although I've no complaints about the weather at the moment - the glorious sunshine on the autumn leaves reminds me why it's good to be home again.

May I suggest Malta (I actually prefer Gozo) or Tunisia?
