This is my first blog post from the New Flat! No photos until next week I'm afraid; they'll take too long to upload until broadband arrives. Which should be next Tuesday.
I have gone some way to unpacking all the boxes; most stuff in the kitchen is now away and we've cooked our first meals in there now. The CDs are mostly in alphabetical order again and working their way into the racks whenever I sit down over there for a minute or two. I'm hoping to start doing the same with the books. The computer will stay in the sitting room until I buy a TV/DVD, because otherwise I'll have to watch films and so on in the study, which would just be weird.
No curtains as yet, but my dad is coming over tomorrow, health and bad back permitting, to stay for a couple of days and help me to sort such things out. He has tools!
That leaves today to make serious inroads on preparing for the new job. I'd like to do a trial run of my journey to school so I'll know how long it will take - I might go one way and come back another. I also want a rough idea of everything I'll be doing in my first few lessons with each class. Sometimes I forget that teaching is what I'm good at, and that I wouldn't have been offered this job unless they thought I was capable of doing it well.
