Time flies

May seems to be whizzing by at a superfast rate. Another week and it'll be payday again! At work, report deadlines seem to be coming thick and fast, and I had my last lesson with my Year 11s (fifth formers, for any oldies who might read this) today. Year 9 (third years) have had their National Curriculum Tests (commonly called SATs) so now have no motivation to do anything between now and the end of July, so lots of fun to look forward to there. I've booked the car in for its MOT during half term week at the end of the month (ta for the reminders, Maris!) and I've been to the quack to have my blood pressure checked again (much better than it was back in Feb when I was worried about Life, the Universe and Everything).

Quite a lot of this has been in an attempt to stay busy as Sam hasn't been around much this month. I saw him last Tuesday for his birthday, which was lovely, and met up with him and his mum in Saffron Walden for lunch on Saturday. I guess I've got so used to spending *every* weekend together that having two consecutive weekends apart is just rather odd. He's in Milan on business this week, so not even a long phone chat to look forward to until he gets back. Still, I've occupied myself pretty well - I did some baking yesterday, the flat is reasonably clean and tidy, there isn't much ironing to do, and I did a lovely jigsaw of Lake Windermere at the weekend which is getting me thinking about where to go on holibobs this summer. Ali and I are thinking about a camping trip but it's still in the very early planning stages.

I'm realising how much happier I am at the moment. I don't know how much of it is connected to the time of year, but life doesn't seem so crappy, and I feel better able to deal with the things that frustrate me. I suppose I need to make the effort to research new jobs and so on before things get bad again and I descend into doom and gloom, but maybe I'll just enjoy life for a week or two first.

Glad to see you're a lot happier now, Fluffy! I think you're right: Time to capitalise on that while it lasts, perhaps?
