Payday!

Last time I blogged, it was a week until payday. The bad news is that means I've gone yet another week without blogging, the good news is that it's payday! Last month had some extra expense, like paying my share of the New York hotel bill, so I'm pleasantly surprised to have made it through without having to dig into savings. I should be able to get back on track with saving now New York is all paid for.
Had a lovely weekend in Ely with Sam. We went out and did a little caching on Saturday (note to self: log cache) although it didn't go quite as planned because Sam rested his pocket computer thingy with the cache details in by the shoe rack while he put his shoes on, and when we got to the vicinity of the first cache he realised it was still there. We managed to find the first cache by using the "where would *I* hide it?" method, and finding some rather obvious sticks resting up against a hollow in the bottom of a tree. Then we went to Thetford for lunch in the nice cafe which had been expanded since we were last there, and a look round the charity shops. We went out for noodles and then for a drink on Saturday night, and on Sunday we just pottered round the shops in the morning and vegged out in the afternoon.

4 days left at work before half term. The last few weeks have gone very quickly what with preparing all my exam groups and trying to keep on top of everything else. Things get much easier now; there are still reports to write, but as the exam groups go on study leave I have much more free time at school to get them done so less work needs to be brought home. I have made my requests for classes for next year, which consisted of threatening to resign if my boss put me anywhere near the only class who have really bugged me this year. I really don't mind which classes I get as long as there's a variety, and some sixth form teaching. I'm still considering leaving eventually but I do need to take the time to find another career first - I rushed headlong into teaching without considering any other options, so it would be rather daft to do the same again with something else.

Hurrah! Half term next week - bank holiday weekend with Sam, visiting family, maybe going to Alton Towers with Ali and anyone else who feels like coming along, having a trial run at camping in my dad's back garden...

You should take Omally; he could find a cache with his pants over his face.
