My whirlwind life of excitement

Sam says that he likes reading my blog because it makes my life and our weekends together sound so interesting. Personally, I think he likes reading it because it helps him to remember what we did on Friday because by the time it gets to Sunday he's forgotten. It's his age, you know.
So anyway, on Friday night, he talked me into going to IKEA because he needed a new bookcase. We decided to go to the Edmonton one because it's closer and the traffic website said the M25 was slow round to Lakeside. It took us a while to find it because it didn't occur to Sam to find its location any more accurately than "Edmonton" but we got there in the end. After buying Sam's bookcase we had meatballs in the restaurant and looked round the rest of the shop. I got some mugs and some fleecy blankets to take camping, and a tin of ginger thins. I would have loved to have splashed out on some furniture but there's nothing I desperately need, I'm not particularly flush at the moment, and if I have to move again there's no point buying furniture just beforehand.
On Saturday we went to Braintree. Sam was pleasantly surprised by the town centre, and we had a nice wander round the charity shops. After a salad in Pizza Express we went to the cinema to see Shrek The Third, which I enjoyed more than Shrek 2 but probably not as much as the first film. I hope they don't make another one as it seems like a good place to stop. Not sure how often I'll be going to Braintree cinema though as it was quite pricey.
We had healthy dinner last night, a mix of vegetables with some wholemeal pasta, and just a little bit of cheese on the top. I should cook properly more often; it's fun, and healthier than eating pizzas all the time.
Today we popped into Bishop's Stortford, and had a picnic in the park again followed by a nice walk by the railway line. It seemed odd to walk up a narrow woodland path overgrown with nettles without pausing to search for hidden tupperware. Then we came home for our afternoon nap, and Sam headed back to do hostipal radio. This evening, not only have I done my skoolwork for tomorrow, but I have also made inroads on the ironing mountain. I'm sure it won't all be done by the time Mother arrives on Wednesday, but then she'd be disappointed if I didn't leave anything for her to do.

What a lovely part of England
My mum got out of the habit of doing my ironing, err. years ago. M takes it upon herself, which means I cant do it without offending her, but it does mean I have to wait. Several days. *hopes sufficient is done to enable me to go to work
