Food tastes better outside
This weekend has been a weekend of outdoor eating. Yesterday we went to a barbecue with some of Sam's college friends. I drove to Greenwich, and Sam navigated, and we got there in one piece without losing our tempers with each other. I did make Sam park though, which had the exciting effect of making my school parking permit reappear when he adjusted the seat - the permit I replaced on Wednesday having lost it 6 months ago.
The barbecue was lovely. We took some home made bread with us which went down very well, and there was plenty of food and a lovely varied mix of conversation. We stayed until 8 and then came home so I could have a drink.
Today we didn't want to go too far afield so we popped into Bishop's Stortford. As it was such a lovely day we went to the New Sainsbury's and got ingredients for a picnic, then ate it in the park. We should do this more often - it was great just watching the world go by and enjoying the fresh air.
Back to work tomorrow - a slightly busier week than last week but things are definitely starting to wind down towards the summer holidays, just lots of tests to mark and reports to write.
