Busy

It's been a busy few days. There's a lot going on at work at the moment; things usually start to wind down towards the end of the summer term when Year 11 and 13 (Fifth years and Upper Sixth) go on study leave, but lots of deadlines are coming thick and fast for reports and end-of-year assessments. I also have to drag my 'orrible Year 10 through coursework, thankfully for the last time as the exam board are abandoning it next year. No doubt it will be resurrected in two or three years' time in a slightly different form.

At the weekend, we did rather a lot; Friday night was the May Week Concert at Trinity. I hadn't bothered getting tickets because I thought it would be hassle going into Cambridge on a Friday night, but Tom had some spare tickets and asked if we wanted to stay over afterwards, so I met Sam there and we had a pleasant evening. The music was excellent, the interval buffet was yummy, the only downside was a pungent man on the row in front; we left after the interval because of the smell. I also managed to squeeze into my little black dress, but only just - I need to either lose the poundage I've put on since I moved house, or buy some bigger dresses.

After staying for lunch in Cambridge at the new Gourmet Burger Kitchen (pricey burgers but well worth it - much yummier than any of the usual fast food suspects) we came back to Dunmow and had fruit for dinner - the Co-op were flogging fresh pineapples for 10p each as they were on their sell-by date, so they were lovely and ripe, and really sweet.

On Sunday afternoon we headed out to London for a bit of a wander and an explore, and then went to a recording of "I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue" in Wimbledon in the evening. It was highly entertaining, and I really enjoyed it, but I've been paying for it this week - we didn't get back until after midnight so I was knackered on Monday and I feel like I've been playing catch-up ever since. The tiredness is starting to make me depressed, and then whenever I think that actually I don't have anything to be depressed about, I start feeling guilty and I'm having to work really hard at the moment to prevent a downward spiral. What I need is plenty of sleep, a good diet, and an easy stress-free week at work. If I can limp through four more weeks and keep on top of things for that long though, I shall have my six blissful weeks of summer holiday which just about make it all worthwhile...

You're playing catch up. We're in the four zone, the topic is Fluffy's Life. Play or pass?
