Webbed feet

The first week of the hols is over. Ali and I drove to Flooded Gloucestershire to see the lovely MMM who gave me a tent and gave Ali a GPS. Then we drove home through massive puddles and stair-rod rain. On Tuesday we drove to Woodhall Spa which is not very far from my parents' houses, and camped there for 2 days. During that time we didn't set very much grass on fire, we did two geocaches, we visited a Kinema, we got very wet, we didn't chase many ducks, and we had a jolly spiffing time. Oh, and I got bitten by some horrid insects and now have blebs on my knee and ankle. We did cooking, if you count boiling a kettle and heating up a tin of ravioli. I have a new ambition; I want to own a primus stove just like my dad's, and cook a proper meal on it in the open air. I hope one day I can persuade Sam to try camping, because it's such jolly good fun, particularly when you stay at a campsite with lovely hot showers like wot Ali and I did. I didn't take the digicam but Ali has some pics that I might get round to stealing at some point.

In Other News, I am househunting again. Sam is going to help me to look at three flats tomorrow, and there are a few more possibilities in the pipeline if none of them are suitable, but it looks like rather a lot of my summer holiday will be spent packing, telephoning utility companies, unpacking, and so on. We have a couple of weekends away booked (we booked them before we knew I'd have to move again) so I will have to forget about it all and relax for a bit, and it's better than last year where I had to adjust to both New House and New Job at the same time. After that, who knows? Maybe I'll get a few months of stability where nothing happens.

About time you and Sam got a place together;-)
Primus stoves rock. I love how you have to preheat them with meths and then pump up kerosene to dangerously high pressure and then everything is cooked in a flash. When the vapour doesnt ignite properly and a huge flame is emitted is even more fun (but not for eyebrows)

Can do you a PETROL fired pressure stove. It's far more dangerous than your dad's paraffin stove. That's got to be tons of
