Places starting with Br and housey stuff

Eeek, I didn't realise it had been so long since I blogged. Since then, Sam and I have been to Brussels and Bristol, so I shall deal with them one at a time.
Last weekend (not the one that's just gone) we got up at silly o'clock and got a plane to Charleroi Airport, the one that Ryanair pretends is near Brussels. Then we sat on a coach for an hour until we were in Brussels, where we had breakfast. We spent most of Saturday wandering round, seeing some sights, fixing my camera, buying more film, and taking photos. We visited the EU district, and also the statue of the little boy having a wee, and some wonderful green open spaces. It was quite a nice day, so we had chips sitting on a bench for lunch. In the evening, we went out for a lovely Thai meal at a restaurant just up the road from a guidebook recommendation that was shut. On the Sunday, we visited the Atomium, had waffles for breakfast, did lots more walking and took lots more photos. We ate on Sunday evening at a lovely quiet non-touristy restaurant where the man serving us didn't speak English so we managed the whole thing in French - hurrah! On Monday we had a leisurely walk across town, pausing to look at some more interesting things and to browse a flea-market, and eventually we found our way to the railway station to get the train back to Charleroi, and then we flew home.

This weekend (the one just gone) we got the train across to Bristol for the house-warming party of some friends. Having got there mid-afternoon on Saturday, we took the time to do a little record shopping before heading to the party. The party was most entertaining, with excellent pizza and cider, along with pleasant music and chatter. After a late night and a leisurely breakfast the next morning, we wandered into Bristol to have a little look round, before heading to the station to return home.

In between all this gallivanting, I've been trying to prepare for the Big Move. I pick up the keys to the New Flat at 10am tomorrow, at which point I will start moving stuff in. The Final Push will be on Wednesday, when helpful hordes are descending to help me move stuff I can't carry on my own. I decided in the end that a trolley and lots of people will be the most efficient way to move everything. The only potential spanner in the ointment is that I've still not heard from my current landlady to arrange to give her the keys back. She's going to have to get in touch soon; I'm gallivanting off to Durham this weekend if all goes according to plan.
